Apple Valley, California, artist Reva Hansen began painting southwestern landscapes while still in high school, winning a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute. She continued painting while completing her college education and teaching in New Mexico and Arizona. The fascinating creatures around her home in the Mojave Desert turned her attention to desert wildlife, and for a number of years she exhibited exclusively for wildlife organizations throughout California. She then concentrated on exhibiting at professional art shows, and now works exclusively from her studio - primarily with oil and pastel - and does a variety of wildlife. Her work generally exudes serene tactile realism, and speaks for itself. Reva was a Signature Member and Past President of the now defunct Wildlife Artist Association.

Owl Kachina
The song of the wolf is from forgotten ages.
The lore of the wolf is great: the white wolf stands in legend with the white buffalo, the white bear, the white lion, the blood-striped white tiger, and the great eagle. And, one day, the old gray wolf shall come to teach the Apache, and all the tribes and nations, how to return to The Great Spirit.
He sings and he forgets not!
Our brother, the wolf, sings of ancient times, when he walked with the man and
the beasts in the garden of God, for which he yearns. He sings of the great waters,
then hunting with the man, the lion, the bear, and the tiger.
He sings and he forgets not!
